Cityplace is a seven storey residential condominium project located near downtown Victoria. The L-shaped building features prominent urban streetwalls along both Fairfield Road and a mid-block pedestrian promenade leading to St. Ann’s Academy. The tripartite façade of base, middle and top is robustly expressed through the use of brick, exposed concrete and stucco infill with a wide overhanging roof uniting the architectural composition.
A total of 53 suites is accommodated plus 2 levels of underground parking. Units are relatively compact and feature one or two bedrooms on a single level. 3 large two level units with sweeping views are located at floors 6-7. A secluded landscaped courtyard for residents is located away from the street at ground level. Street level suites facing Fairfield Road have entrance terraces separated by low brick walls and gates from the public sidewalk.
As project architect, Jim was responsible for design and all project phase services working with his team at Merrick Architecture Borowski Sakumoto Fligg Limited.
