In 2005 Christ Church Cathedral commissioned Hellmuth Wolff & Associates of Montreal, Quebec to design and build a new mechanical pipe organ housed within the existing choir loft at the west end of the main sanctuary. In order to accommodate the cathedral choir and the new organ’s console, ruck-positive and 4000 pipes, the existing loft was expanded and reconfigured with terraced seating, music stands and custom light fixtures. The project also included restoration of the cathedral’s west façade rose window and 7 new stained glass windows by Edward Schaefer located behind the new organ pipes.

As project architect, Jim worked closely with the organ builder, Cathedral organist and structural engineer to integrate the many new components of the expanded loft into a seamless design in harmony with the Cathedral's neo-gothic interior.
